VMI’s high-usage scoring guard with a steal-first edge
Chavis Holmes was a dynamic VMI guard whose calling card was two-way impact: he scored efficiently, attacked in big moments, and paired perimeter shooting with disruptive defense, including ranking among the Big South leaders in steals, scoring, and three-pointers made in 2008-09. He was also a proven volume scorer with multiple 25-point games, plus a standout 35-point outing against Coastal Carolina. For a team, his fit is best as a fearless, high-energy lead guard who brings toughness, shot-making, and playmaking pressure rather than pure size or positional versatility.
