Brian Maurer brings size, mobility, and a proven big-play ceiling to SFA
In the 2026 season context, Brian Maurer is a redshirt junior quarterback at Stephen F. Austin with a strong frame at 6-5, 215 and a dual-threat profile that has produced 207 completions, 16 passing touchdowns, and 276 rushing yards in his Lumberjacks career.[1] His best trait is upside: he can stretch defenses vertically and add value with his legs, but his history also includes uneven passing efficiency and turnovers in some games, so he fits best with a staff that can harness his aggressiveness and keep him on schedule.[1][11]
