Cassie Grizzard gives Virginia Tech a veteran lefty look with steady run prevention
In the 2025 season, senior left-hander Cassie Grizzard went 2-0 with a 3.15 ERA over 26.2 innings, holding hitters to a .198 average and allowing just one home run, which tells you her value is built on keeping games under control rather than overpowering people.[1][5][8] She returned for the 2026 slate as one of Virginia Tech’s experienced arms in the circle,[2][9] and her game stands out for composure, matchup flexibility, and a “get outs, don’t get cute” vibe that coaches love. If your team wants a seasoned competitor who can give quality innings and complement a deeper staff, she’s a smart fit.[1][6][8]
