Jairus Miller is already giving McNeese a legit left-handed punch
In the 2026 season, freshman left-handed pitcher Jairus Miller has flashed real swing-and-miss stuff for McNeese, including a three-inning, one-hit, five-strikeout shutout relief outing in the upset of No. 1 LSU and a 2-0 start with a 4.97 ERA by mid-March. He’s a strike-throwing southpaw with poise, quick adaptation, and the kind of competitive edge that plays up in big spots; Prep Baseball noted his mid-upper-80s fastball and sweeping mid-70s slider as key differentiators. For a staff needing a high-upside lefty who can handle pressure, he’s a very interesting fit.
