Gustavo Manzanares is a former San José State defensive back turned coach, valued for football IQ and development chops
Manzanares is best known as a San José State alumnus who played defensive back before moving into coaching and player development, which points to strong football IQ, discipline, and teaching ability rather than current on-field production. Reliable public profiles tie him to defensive back play at SJSU and later coaching roles, but there is no current season stat line available here to evaluate recent performance. For a team, that profile reads like a high-character, detail-oriented DB background with upside in technique, communication, and defensive understanding.
