Chris Thompson Jr. brings veteran size, leadership and upside to Tulsa’s linebacker room
In the 2024 season, Chris Thompson Jr. was a steady presence for Tulsa, playing in all 12 games, starting three, and posting 49 tackles with 4.5 tackles for loss, one sack and a forced fumble; Tulsa also named him a 2026 team captain, and local coverage says he returned from a 2025 injury with a clear “go time” mentality. He’s a 6-foot-3, 245-pound graduate linebacker with SEC/Power-conference seasoning from USC, so the appeal is part production, part grown-man presence in the middle of the defense.
