Columbia’s Brendan Murphy is a steady lefty with starter upside
In the 2026 season, Columbia LHP Brendan Murphy made 12 appearances and threw 27.2 innings with a 5.53 ERA, 20 strikeouts, and four wins, which points to a valuable swingman who can give his team real innings. He also showed flashes of poise in spot starts, including a four-inning outing at Fordham in 2025 and a career-high-tying four strikeouts against Penn in 2026. The profile says left-handed, durable, and usable in multiple roles — a good fit for a staff that wants innings, flexibility, and a pitcher who can compete without a lot of drama.
