Jerome Cooper Brings Tackling Pop to Akron’s Secondary
Cooper looks like a high-motor defensive back who can be trusted to finish plays, with Akron’s 2025 opener showing he was among the team’s busiest tacklers after posting 10 stops in a 10-0 loss to Wyoming. That kind of production suggests a DB who plays near the action, supports the run, and brings contact balance more than flashy ball production. For a team, he fits best as an aggressive, physical piece who can raise the floor of a defense that needs reliability and toughness on the back end.
