Norfolk State’s backfield name to watch
Maurice Thornton is on Norfolk State’s 2026 football roster as a running back, but publicly available stat pages do not show a meaningful game log or season production for him yet[1][2][3]. That makes him more of an evaluation play than a box-score star right now: the appeal is usually in traits like burst, patience, and special-teams value, plus whether he can carve out touches behind a Spartans offense that leaned on Kevon King for rushing production in the 2025 season[7][14]. If your staff wants an under-the-radar RB with upside and room to climb, Thornton is worth a closer look; if you need proven 2025 production, the résumé is still light[1][2][7].
