Rodney Echols Jr. brings size, experience, and ball-hawking potential to Alabama State’s secondary
In the 2021 season, Rodney Echols Jr. appeared in four games for Alabama State, and ESPN lists him as a defensive back with a 2022 stat line that included 3 total tackles and 1 fumble recovery[1][2]. At 5-foot-11 and 182 pounds, he profiles as a compact, physical DB with enough experience to compete for snaps, especially on special teams and in sub-packages[2][3]. The real appeal is upside: he has the frame, familiarity with the program, and enough live-game reps to be a useful depth piece if he continues to sharpen consistency and coverage polish[1][2].
