Austin Williams is a 5-11, 239-pound linebacker who transferred into North Texas after playing at UTPB, where he was an Honorable Mention All-Lone Star Conference pick in 2024 with 40 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack and a forced fumble in 12 games.[5][6] The appeal is his downhill physicality and production profile: he has shown he can finish plays in the backfield and bring a sturdy, blue-collar edge. The catch is that North Texas lists him as having not appeared in game action in 2024 and preserving a redshirt in 2023, so he looks more like a developmental add than an immediate plug-and-play starter.[6]
