Hya Haywood brings veteran backcourt IQ and disruptive defense to WKU
Haywood is a compact, experience-based guard who has shown she can impact the game with defense, ball pressure, and opportunistic scoring rather than high usage; at WKU she appeared in nine games as a freshman in 2019-20, and her later college track record highlights steal generation and leadership, including 106 steals in a final season at Georgia State College. She fits best as a connector guard and energy piece: someone who raises the defensive tone, makes winning plays, and adds maturity to a rotation that values pace, toughness, and guard depth.[1][4][5]
