a dependable Eastern Washington DB with proven tackling pop
Deonta Birdsong stands out as a physical, assignment-sound defensive back for Eastern Washington, with documented game-to-game tackling production and the kind of steady, blue-collar presence coaches trust. In 2003, he recorded tackle totals in official EWU game logs, including 5 tackles against Portland State and 5 against Weber State, signaling a DB who isn’t shy about contact and can help near the run fit. The available records show him as a veteran contributor rather than a flash-only player, which makes him the kind of fit teams like when they want reliability, toughness, and a low-drama tone-setter in the secondary.
