High School Star WR with Modest URI Debut
Xavier Ferland, a Cranston West high school standout in 2011-12 with 24 receptions for 457 yards (19.04 YPC, well above national avg of 13.93), joined URI as a WR in 2015, playing 9 games with 2 starts and just 2 catches for 21 yards—including an 11-yard grab vs. Central Connecticut—showing raw speed potential but limited college production so far. His HS explosiveness suggests upside as a deep threat, ideal for teams needing developmental intensity; no recent data post-2015, so scout for growth in a high-motor, under-the-radar prospect.
