Owen Slater is a big-bodied, durable Missouri State arm with real swing-and-miss upside
In the 2026 season, Missouri State right-hander Owen Slater (6-foot-4, 205 pounds) emerged as a versatile two-way contributor and a starter who could miss bats, including a 7-strikeout outing in 6.0 innings against Memphis and a 2.2-inning, 2-run performance against Arkansas; he finished 2026 with a 4.96 ERA, 27 strikeouts and 21 walks in 32.2 innings as a pitcher. He stands out for his size, competitiveness and the fact that Missouri State trusted him in meaningful games, but his strike-throwing consistency is still the separator if the next step is becoming a reliably efficient weekend arm.
