Iowa’s reliable, efficient senior forward
In the 2001-02 season, Duez Henderson gave Iowa a steady two-way frontcourt presence: 4.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and a crisp 79.6% from the free-throw line in 15.4 minutes per game. His biggest differentiator was efficiency and versatility, not volume—he handled the ball well for a forward and kept mistakes low, which made him a useful connector piece in Iowa’s rotation. He was also part of an Iowa program that had already reached a Sweet 16 and later won the 2001 Big Ten Tournament, so the winning pedigree is very real.
