proven Oregon State edge-setter with splash-play chops
A sixth-year Oregon State linebacker/edge defender, McCartan has been a steady playmaker when healthy, with career production that includes 132 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks and 4 interceptions through the 2023 season; in 2023 he posted 47 tackles and 5.0 sacks, showing real pressure value off the edge. At 6-5, he brings length, effort and a knack for timing disruptive plays, plus the kind of veteran savvy coaches trust. He’s best for teams wanting a physical, experienced front-seven piece who can rush, set edges and make the occasional game-flipping turnover.
