veteran-Iona guard with Bronx roots and a grinder’s edge
Andre Tarver’s profile reads like a classic local-ball success story: a New York City guard from Wings Academy/American Christian who earned minutes at Iona with toughness, quickness, and backcourt savvy. The available Iona roster bio shows he was a guard from the Bronx and a freshman who appeared in 25 games with seven starts in the 2007-08 season, which points to a player trusted to compete right away[1]. For a team fit, Tarver is the kind of guard you want if you value intensity, poise, and dependable two-way effort over flash—more spark plug than headline machine[1].
