Nelson Lamizana’s first season at Coppin State showed a promising modern forward profile: in 2025-26, he averaged 6.6 points and 3.0 rebounds in 19.2 minutes, shot 44.3% from the field and a strong 87.5% at the line, and earned two MEAC Rookie of the Week honors.[4][7] His differentiators are his size, athleticism, and usable perimeter skill for a forward, plus he has already shown he can step up in key moments with a 16-point, seven-rebound game at UMES.[4][14][15] For a team, he looks like a developmental fit if you want a mobile frontcourt piece with upside rather than a finished product.[4][16]
