Montana State's Defensive Architect Returns to Build Championship Culture
Bobby Daly is back as Montana State's defensive coordinator after a stint at UTEP, bringing elite defensive pedigree and championship experience. A former Bobcat linebacker (2005-2008) with 382 career tackles (4th in MSU history) and Honorable Mention All-America honors, Daly helped architect Montana State's historic 2024 season: 15-1 record, undefeated regular season, 14-game win streak, and FCS National Championship game appearance. His defensive philosophy emphasizes accountability and winning culture—he explicitly tells players he wants them to capture a national title. Daly's seamless transition back to Bozeman signals Montana State's commitment to sustained defensive excellence and makes him a proven leader for programs seeking to build championship-caliber defenses.
