Jackson Rodgers gives WIU a swing-and-miss righty with strikeout upside
Rodgers is a 6-foot-2 right-hander for Western Illinois who has shown real bat-missing ability and the kind of poise coaches love in relief and spot-start roles. In 2026, he earned a win with five innings of one-run ball and seven strikeouts against Akron, and a separate preview highlighted his eight strikeouts and one hit allowed in 5.1 innings as a major weekend bright spot. He looks like a useful fit for teams that value a competitive arm with strikeout juice, flexibility, and a proven ability to step up against quality lineups.
