Jake Allen brings speed, athleticism, and ‘big-play’ instincts to Portland’s outfield
Jake Allen is a redshirt freshman outfielder for Portland who stands out more for athletic upside than stat-padding: Portland’s staff has described him as a multi-sport athlete with excellent speed, athleticism, and a knack for making the big play.[7] At 5-foot-10, 185 pounds, he profiles as a lively, high-motor defender who can impact a game with range and effort, and his local background from McNary HS adds familiarity and competitiveness.[3][7] He looks like a good fit for a team that values energy, versatility, and run-saving defense over a polished power profile.[3][7]
