High School Rim Protector Turned D2 Role Player
Caleb Palkert, a 6-8 forward/center from Southwest Christian HS class of 2009, signed with USC Upstate where he began his college career, then transferred to Winona State in 2011-12, appearing in 19 games with modest 18 points and 21 rebounds as a freshman reserve—highlighting his rebounding tenacity with 6 boards in a key outing vs. Concordia-St. Paul. A high school beast averaging 20.4 PPG, 10.5 RPG, and 4.3 BPG leading his team to sectionals, Palkert's length, shot-blocking instincts, and motor make him a gritty frontcourt fit for D2 programs needing blue-collar energy off the bench; no recent data post-2012 suggests he's no longer active.
