defensive-minded Marshall center with clear shot-blocking upside
Mbao is best known for his interior presence, anchored by the rim protection and rebounding that made him a low-usage but valuable big at Marshall; in his final season there, he averaged 0.6 points and 1.5 rebounds per game, reflecting a role built more on defense, size, and physicality than scoring[5]. He fits teams that need a true center to space, protect the paint, and do the gritty work without demanding touches—more glue than centerpiece, but useful if you want toughness and position defense[5].
