Montana’s physical, old-school RB with upside as a depth-piece grinder
In the 2026 season, David Gober is listed as a redshirt freshman for Montana, and his profile points to a tough, compact back who can handle physical work between the tackles rather than just flash in space. Public stat snapshots show limited but usable production in the broader context of his career path, with rushing numbers that suggest he’s still building consistency and role definition. What makes him interesting is the combo of team-first mentality, durability outlook as a younger player, and a style that fits downhill, situational football. If you need a rugged, developmental runner with room to grow, he’s worth a look.
