Trey Nelson brings active, multi-playmaking linebacker value to The Citadel
Nelson profiles as a **versatile linebacker** who produces beyond the tackle count, with 2024-25 numbers showing **21 total tackles**, **1 sack**, and **2 fumble recoveries**, a mix that suggests ball awareness and disruptive instincts.[1] At **6-foot-1, 175 pounds**, he is listed as a freshman in FOX Sports’ bio, but the available data is limited, so the clearest takeaway is that he looks like a **high-motor, play-finding defender** rather than a pure size-based enforcer.[2] That combination can fit a system that values assignment soundness, hustle, and turnover potential.[1][2]
