Maine freshman lefty Sage Soares is a high-upside, in-progress arm
In the 2026 season, Sage Soares—Maine’s 5-foot-11 freshman left-handed pitcher from Coventry, Rhode Island—has been used sparingly so far, appearing in two games and striking out three, but her profile still screams potential thanks to a starter’s build, a left-left matchup edge, and a strong prep background that included a 9-0 record and 0.68 ERA as a freshman in high school. She looks like a developmental fit for a staff that values upside, poise, and future innings.
