Experienced, physical safety with proven tackle production
In the 2024 season at New Mexico, Christian Ellis posted 99 tackles and an interception, and he also earned a 70.6 defensive grade on Pro Football Focus across 900 snaps, which is the kind of volume-and-consistency profile coaches love. He then gave Virginia Tech a short but useful 2025 stint, appearing in 4 games and recording 7 tackles and 3 pass breakups before entering the transfer portal. His calling card is range, reliability, and production near the ball; the tradeoff is that he’s more steady than flashy, but that’s exactly why he can fit a defense that wants a tough, assignment-sound safety.
