Elijah Benoit brings veteran versatility and tackler’s grit to Eastern Illinois
In the 2022 season, Elijah Benoit played in all 11 games for Eastern Illinois, made six starts, and finished with 30 tackles, including 26 solo stops, plus a forced fumble, showing dependable backfield versatility between corner and safety.[2] He’s the kind of DB coaches like because he’s battle-tested, active in run support, and willing to do the dirty work rather than just chase highlight picks.[2] ESPN lists him as a defensive back with Eastern Illinois career history spanning 2021-2023, underscoring his experience and roster value.[1][3]
