Tre’Von Taylor is giving Hampton a steady hand at quarterback
In the 2026 season, Hampton’s passing offense has been led by Tre’Von Taylor, not Kyle Fields, which suggests Fields is not currently the featured QB in the Pirates’ rotation[1][15]. Hampton’s offense has flashed early, including a 45-0 win over Virginia-Lynchburg in which the passing game produced three TD throws, but the team also had a rough follow-up in a 62-0 loss at Maryland[1][11]. For a fit, think depth and developmental upside rather than proven starter impact right now—there isn’t enough public stat evidence to sell Fields as the current engine of this offense[1][15].
