AJ Rasmussen brings a live arm and swing-and-miss upside to St. Thomas
Rasmussen is a right-handed pitcher with a compact college resume so far at St. Thomas, where he made 7 appearances and 2 starts in 2025 while striking out 9 hitters, including a season-high 3 punchouts against Iowa. His appeal is the raw pitch mix and deception: public scouting notes list an 81-84 mph slider and an 82-85 mph changeup, suggesting he can miss bats even without overpowering velocity. He looks like a developmental fit for a staff that values strike-throwing, pitchability, and room to grow.
