Iowa’s two-way, turnover-hunting playmaker with NFL-caliber versatility
In the 2011 season, Jordan Bernstine was a do-it-all Iowa defensive back who ranked seventh in the Big Ten in kickoff returns (23.8 yards per return) and 10th in tackles per game (7.4), while also producing 91 tackles and five interceptions that year.[3][4] His value was versatility: he also handled some running back and punting duties, bringing an old-school, high-intensity edge that coaches love and opponents hate. The big caution flag was durability — he missed the 2009 season with a preseason ankle injury and later had a major ankle issue in camp — but when healthy, he was a disruptive, physical fit for a defense that prizes toughness and playmaking.[3][10]
