Omari Bursey is already trending as a top CAA linebacker
Bursey has quickly become one of Villanova’s defensive building blocks: in the 2026 preseason, he was named to the Patriot League preseason all-conference team after a 2025 season with 50 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and an interception. Villanova’s staff describes him as a strong, physical tackler with the size-and-strength mix to keep rising, and his playoff impact — including eight tackles against Lehigh and a career-best three TFLs at Tarleton State — shows he shows up in the biggest moments. He looks like a great fit for a defense that wants a downhill, high-motor linebacker with real playmaking juice.
