Jackson Montgomery brings strikeout bite, but the command is still catching up
In the 2026 season, Coppin State pitcher Jackson Montgomery has flashed swing-and-miss stuff, but the numbers say he’s been under heavy pressure: 13.2 innings, 13 strikeouts, and 17 walks while allowing 23 hits and 30 earned runs for a 19.76 ERA. He’s a right-hander at 6-foot, 170 pounds with a live arm profile, and he was featured by Coppin State in April 2026, which suggests he’s a notable part of the program’s pitching story. The upside is real; the consistency and strike-throwing are the big swing factors.
