I.J. Ready is Mississippi State’s steady floor general with real playmaking value
I.J. Ready’s profile is built around **passing, poise, and guard pressure**: in the season referenced by ESPN, he averaged **7.9 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists** while shooting **40.4%** from the field, and Mississippi State’s roster notes show he led the Bulldogs with **134 assists** and averaged **4.5 assists per game**, ranking among the team’s best distributors.[1][2] He is worth caring about because he brings a coach-friendly blend of ball security, creation, and toughness, though his back spasms and missed LSU game are a reminder that health can affect availability.[2] That makes him a good fit for a team needing a dependable lead guard who can organize offense and set the tone without needing the ball to dominate every possession.[1][2]
