veteran MAC guard who brings toughness, steals, and floor balance
Trendon Hankerson is the kind of guard coaches love because he plays with edge, poise, and a two-way mindset; during his 2022-23 Akron stop after four seasons at Northern Illinois, he brought 101 games of MAC experience, 886 career points, 189 assists, and 117 steals to the Zips’ backcourt. His best differentiator is disruption: he’s long been known as a ballhawk who can pressure the ball, make winning hustle plays, and give lineups a reliable connector rather than a usage-hungry scorer. If you want mature guard play and defensive intensity, he’s a fit.
