Underrated Iowa State Forward with Elite Efficiency and Gritty Post Presence
Solomon Young, the 6-8 Iowa State forward, stands out with a career 53.3% field goal shooter ranking 10th all-time at Iowa State, showcasing elite efficiency in tight spaces rather than flashy scoring. His differentiator is a 'lax nature' that fuels relentless defensive intensity—evidenced by a 4-steal game against Kansas State—and a physical, undrafted grit that translates to high-rebound, low-mistake play. Though undrafted and currently in his fifth pro season (2024-25 G League: 9.5 PPG, 4.8 RPG), Young’s injury-free history and team-first personality make him a perfect fit for teams needing a reliable, high-effort forward who thrives in the post without demanding star treatment.
