Shey Newton brings local-toughness upside to USD’s defensive front
Shey Newton is a San Diego Toreros defensive lineman from Banning, California, and his current public stat footprint is thin, which usually means the real story is in the trench work rather than the box score. ESPN lists him as No. 92 on USD’s roster page, but provides no game log details, so the best read is that he’s a depth-and-upside interior defender whose value comes from effort, leverage, and physicality. If your team wants a high-motor DL who can fight for snaps and fit a culture-first locker room, he’s the kind of under-the-radar body worth a closer look.
