Chase Kern brings veteran edge-setting experience to South Dakota State’s defensive front
Kern is a battle-tested **defensive end** whose value shows up in reliability and effort: South Dakota State notes he returned to the lineup and started all 12 games in a season at DE, while his earlier high school production showed a high tackle volume that suggests active run support and motor. He is the kind of player who can fit a team that wants disciplined, assignment-sound edge play more than flashy pass-rush numbers, and his profile points to toughness and consistency rather than headline-grabbing stats.
