The Cal post anchor who did the dirty work and did it with class
Caldwell was a 6-foot-3 center for Cal who made her mark as a physical, efficient interior presence and a relentless rebounder; in her Cal career she finished with 1,007 rebounds, ranking fourth in program history, and 1,007 points as one of only four Bears to hit the 1,000-point/1,000-rebound club. Her game translated beyond box scores too: teammates and coaches leaned on her for steadiness, she was a two-time Pac-12 All-Academic honoree, and she stood out as the first Cal women’s player accepted into Haas. If you want toughness, IQ, and reliability in the paint, she’s your kind of big.
