Darryl Tapp brings Hokies toughness, NFL chops, and defensive-line credibility
Darryl Tapp is a Virginia Tech legend and former NFL defensive end whose reputation is built on relentless effort, technical line play, and a true Hokies “Lunch Pail” mentality. He was a 2005 All-America selection and a second-round NFL Draft pick in 2006, then returned to Blacksburg as a defensive assistant/co-defensive line coach, bringing pro-level teaching to the room. If a team wants a high-IQ, high-motor DE who understands how to win with leverage, hands, and discipline, Tapp is the kind of fit that usually ages well.
