Max Mason gives Southern Miss a big-bodied, under-the-radar target with special-teams value
In the latest available Southern Miss roster information, Max Mason is listed as a 6-7, 231-pound tight end, not a wide receiver, which immediately explains why he stands out: rare size, catch radius, and matchup potential at the college level. He also arrived with a multi-sport background and a recruiting profile that included three-star recognition, hinting at upside and versatility. The stat sheet is thin, so his appeal is more about projection, frame, and role flexibility than proven production. Good fit if a team wants length, development upside, and special-teams utility.
