Chanahl Putnam brings shot-making, spacing and veteran guard savvy to Detroit
In the 2011-12 season, Chanahl Putnam was a reliable perimeter threat for Detroit, averaging 5.9 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists while shooting 35.2% from three and 86.7% at the line. She showed stretch-guard value with multiple 3-point makes in key games and had to work through an ankle injury that cost her six games, which adds a little durability context to the résumé. Putnam looks like a fit for teams needing a calm, experienced guard who can space the floor and give you efficient shooting without needing the ball to dominate every possession.
