Illinois' Rock-Solid Long Snapper Who Powered NFL Careers
Nathan Hodel, the Illinois Fighting Illini center and long snapper, was a model of unflinching reliability, holding the line for kicker Neil Rackers during his 95% field goal season (40/42 in 2005 with Cardinals) including an NFL-record-tying three 50+ yarders in one game. His pinpoint snaps and ironman streak—fifth in Cardinals history with 132 consecutive games played—propelled an 11-year NFL run across four teams, peaking with Arizona's 2008 Super Bowl squad. Care about Hodel for his clutch precision under pressure; he'd be your special teams anchor, injury-proof and laser-focused.
