Ball-Hawking Duke Cornerback Turned Proven Defensive Coach
Leon Wright was a high-impact Duke cornerback known for production and playmaking, finishing his Duke career with 151 tackles and 10 interceptions while starting 30 of 41 games, and he was the first player in school history to return two interceptions for touchdowns in one game. His differentiators were instinctive coverage skills, true ball skills, and the ability to change a game in an instant—traits that still define his value as a coach and evaluator today. If you care about defensive backs who bring toughness, intelligence, and turnover upside, Wright is exactly the profile that stands out.
