Old-school rim protection, limited box-score juice
In the 2004-05 season, Ian McVey was a 6-9, 225-pound Utah State forward/center who gave the Aggies low-usage frontcourt depth, appearing in 27 games and averaging 1.2 points, 0.9 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks in 6.1 minutes per game while shooting 57.1% from the field. His calling card was interior size and shot-blocking rather than scoring, and contemporary coverage framed him as a hard-working reserve who made the most of sparse minutes. If you need a physical, paint-filling big who can change a few possessions defensively, he fits; if you need offense, this isn’t your guy.
