Jacob Thompson gives Drake a proven, disruptive linebacker presence
In the 2023 season, Jacob Thompson was an All-PFL Honorable Mention for Drake after playing in all 12 games and producing 74 total tackles with 9 tackles for loss, showing the kind of downhill, high-motor linebacker production that changes field position and fits a physical defense. He stands out for consistent availability, backfield disruption, and reliable run support, which are exactly the traits coaches value beyond raw stats. Based on his 2023 output, he looks like a strong fit for a team needing an active, assignment-sound linebacker who can make plays near the line of scrimmage.
