Once-Hyped PG Prospect Now a Long-Forgotten Free Agent
Jaylen Beckham, a 6-0 guard from Lexington, KY, burst onto the scene as a top AAU prospect in 2010 and No. 11 national point guard per Rivals, but his college career at Samford (2012-13) fizzled with meager 1.4 PPG, 0.8 RPG, 0.8 APG, and a dismal 26.9% FG%; career JUCO stats at Wabash Valley hit 9.6 PPG but went undrafted in 2016 and remains an unrestricted NBA free agent at age 32 with no recent performance data, making him a high-risk, low-upside fit for any team lacking developmental patience.
