SMU's Versatile RB with Holiday Bowl MVP Pedigree
Kevin Pope is a high-intensity, multi-dimensional running back for the SMU Mustangs who proved his elite versatility by earning Holiday Bowl Offensive MVP honors after a season featuring 637 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 61 receptions, including a 61-yard long. While primarily listed as an RB, Pope's differentiator is his rare dual-threat capability as a 'stud' punt returner and a defensive contributor who logged 69 tackles from a linebacker-like role, showcasing an intensity level and football IQ that transcends traditional position limits. His injury history appears clean given his heavy workload across offense and defense, and his personality traits reflect a relentless, team-first competitor who thrives in high-pressure situations. For any team seeking a player who can impact the game in multiple phases without needing a position change, Pope is an exceptional fit.
