Oliver Soukup brings veteran, physical defensive-line pedigree to NMSU
If you mean the New Mexico State-connected Oliver Soukup, he’s a long-tenured, no-nonsense football mind who played defensive line for the Aggies, earned All-Big West honors in 2000, and later coached at NMSU as assistant head coach and linebackers coach. His calling card is toughness, defensive development, and program familiarity—traits that matter more than flash. He’s the kind of fit that appeals to staffs looking for a grinder: experienced, respected, and grounded in the New Mexico football ecosystem, with a track record of helping build sturdy defenses rather than chasing headlines.
